Cord Cutter Halloween: OTA and Streaming Entertainment

It’s no apparition! Halloween themed TV shows and movies are revealing themselves to cordcuttters looking for spooky tricks and treats this season.

Here are just a few of the ghoulish goodies available this Halloween. Many are free over the air with your Mohu HDTV antenna.

Monday, October 26th

PBS –  (OTA) 8AM & 3PM PST:  Curious George Halloween Boo Fest is wholesome Halloween entertainment for the little ones.  In this 1 hour show George and Allie try to discover if the story of the kicking scarecrow is fact or fiction.

ABC – (OTA) 1PM: The Chew crew creates Halloween themed shakes and cocktails, as well as a Hungarian goulash guaranteed to keep vampires away with 60 cloves of garlic!

ABC – (OTA) 8PM: Dancing With the Stars casts its spell on audiences nationwide with Halloween themed performances.

A&E – (Sling TV)  8PM PST: Fear: Buried Alive is a live event where three people agree to be buried alive in an attempt to conquer their greatest fears.

A&E – (Sling TV) 10PM PST: Cursed: The Bell Witch a 200 year old curse is investigated, starting with an overnight camp out at the grave-site of the witch who may have done the honors.

Travel Channel – (Sling TV) 1AM PST: Ghost Adventures: Saint James Hotel hauntings are investigated.

Tuesday, October 27th

PBS – (OTA)  8PM : American Experience: War of the Worlds revisits the fictitious radio broadcast by Orson Wells that brought to life the book by H.G. Wells.

PBS – (OTA) 9PM: Secrets of the Dead: Vampire Legend is the premiere episode of Season 15 of this PBS series.  This timely episode explores the myth of vampires and the archaeological evidence which may or may not support evidence that they were and are – real.

AMC – (Sling TV) 6PM – 12AM PST: Friday the 13th: Part I, Part II, & Part III have Jason terrorizing teens, much to the delight of Halloween horror lovers.

Wednesday, October 28th

ABC – (OTA) 8PM PST:  The Middle has Brick serving up “Twilight Zone” inspired stories featuring the Heck family.

ABC – (OTA) 8:30PM PST: The Goldbergs offer Halloween hilarity when Beverly decides to teach Adam a lesson after she’s shunned in favor of the new woman in his life.

ABC – (OTA) 9PM PST:  Modern Family has Phil attempting to mix it up for an ‘Awesome’ Halloween, instead of going with Claire’s usual hair-raising theme.

ABC – (OTA) 9:30PM PST: Black-ish brings Dre’s roughhousing nephews and nieces to the neighborhood for trick-or-treating.

AMC – (Sling TV) 7PM-12AM: Halloween, Halloween II, & Halloween III: Season of the Witch feature an escaped maniac Michael Myers on the loose in Illinois, terrorizing and tantalizing in these bloody thrillers.

Travel Channel (Sling TV) – 9PM: Expedition Unknown – Hunting Vampires explores the history of vampires in Bulgaria and Romania.

Thursday, October 29th

ABC – (OTA) 1PM: The Chew offers creative suggestions for last-minute Halloween costumes on a budget.

ABC – (OTA) 8PM: The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown a Halloween treat for all ages!  This airing also includes a bonus cartoon: You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown.

AMC – (Sling TV) 6PM-12AM: Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, & Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers will keep viewers on the edge of their seats with the doors and windows locked.

Friday, October 30th

ABC – (OTA) 7AM: Good Morning America flies in to share lots of otherworldly Halloween surprises.

ABC – (OTA) 8PM: Last Man Standing has Mike and Chuck forgoing handing out Halloween candy to watch football. Vanessa and Carol decide to prank their husbands as a result.

ABC – (OTA) 8:30PM: Dr. Ken attempts to make up for a botched proposal to his wife, to make amends for the horrifying proposal decades ago.

PBS – (OTA) 9PM PST: Live from Lincoln Center: Danny Elfman showcases composer Danny Elfman’s scores from Time Burton’s films “Beetlejuice”, “Edward Scissorhands” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” – each with its own cool, yet creepy tempo.

NBC – (OTA) 9PM PST: Grimm is back in its fairy-tale-like glory in its Season 5 opener.

ION – (OTA) 9PM PST:  You Cast a Spell On Me is a 2 hour movie in which a warlock falls for a mortal woman he kisses at a Halloween party.  Soon after his magic fails him, and he realizes his kiss may have transferred his powers to her.

AMC – (Sling TV) 6PM-10PM: Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers and Halloween: Resurrection get you primed for a frightfully fun Halloween night.

Saturday, October 31st

Travel Channel (Sling TV) – 9PM: Deadwood: City of Ghosts explores the history of Deadwood, South Dakota and the current-day hauntings experienced by visitors to its old west hotels and saloons.
