Hard to believe that it’s already June. Summer is creeping up on us, the weather starting to heat up, and cord cutting baseball fans are about to get an epic dose of cable-free baseball. Yes, that’s right, the month of June is jam packed with games that don’t require any subscriptions, so watching MLB for free is super simple.
That means no cable subscriptions.
No streaming service subscriptions.
No monthly fees.
In fact, the only thing you’ll need to catch all the action, is simple device called the over-the-air (OTA) TV antenna. Now if you don’t know what an OTA antenna is, it’s an antenna that let’s you pick up broadcast networks in your area for free, many of them available in full HD.
What does “broadcast networks in your area” mean? Simply put this means stations like NBC, ABC, and Fox. Often, but depending on where you live, you will also get access to a few local access channels as well (sub-channels).
The reason why this matters to you, the cord cutting baseball fan, is that Fox, the sole broadcast network with the rights to MLB games, will air the majority of their games in the month of June on the regular Fox broadcast network.
In total, there are going to be 12 MLB games airing on Fox in June – 4 of which you will have access too (more on that later). That is a huge increase over the previous month, which only had FOUR OTA games total, for the entire month.
Here’s what the lineup looks like on FOX:
As you can see, this schedule is broken up into 4 different sections. Within each section, we have three different games airing at the same time. This represents all the games airing on FOX across the nation. And the game that you will have access too, will depend on your Geo location.
For the most part, local games take precedent. To figure out which game will air in your area, use a tool like TitanTV.
Now if you’re not satisfied with this selection of games, or you just need more to supplement your OTA baseball viewing, there are a lot of other options for watching baseball without cable. You can check out that guide here.
