Fall truly is the most wonderful time of the year. The air is starting to cool, football is back in town, and of course there’s the slew of television shows premiering and returning from the summer break. But like all good things, there’s a downside, even if it is a great problem to have…
With all this content at our finger tips, deciding what to watch is sometimes a bit difficult. If you’re like me, you only have time to watch a few shows a night (if that), so making the right decision on what to watch becomes very important.
To save you a little time, we’ve taken the trouble of assembling a quick rundown of some of the best shows premiering and returning for the month of September 2016.
Set to return this season is a whole slew of critically acclaimed, adult-oriented, animated television shows on Fox. Family Guy, The Simpsons, and Bob’s Burgers are all set to return for their umpteenth season. Also premiering is the new live action / animated show Son of Zorn. Think He-Man meets Modern Family. If you’d like to know what time these shows come on, keep reading for a list of show times.
Looking for something a little more serious and light on laughs? Then you’re going to want to tune in to the premiere of Quantico. Centered around a diverse group of FBI recruits, the show take place at the Marine Corps base in Quantico Virginia. Watch the recruits grow, train, and encounter deadly situations; completely unaware that one of their own is responsible for a deadly terrorist attack.
Do you love exploring the dark and twisted minds of some of the nation’s worst criminals? Then Criminal Mind is right up your ally. This show follows an elite group of FBI profilers, known as “mind-hunters,” as they track down the perpetrators of heinous crimes; with each character using their diverse set of skills to solve each case.
The award wining Amazon Original: Transparent returns for its third season. For those of you unfamiliar, Transparent follows a family whose patriarch, played by Jeffrey Tambor of Arrested Development, comes out as transgender and the fallout that results from this revelation. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you might even learn something; that’s what I call a win-win.
Based off of a series of mystery novel, Longmire follows the story of Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire. Still broken up by the death of his wife, Longmire has to balance his own demons with weight and every day struggles that come with being a sheriff. Initially canned by A&E, Netflix gave Longmire the kiss of life and we sure are glad that they did (this is a personal favorite).
The long awaited adaptation of the Marvel comic of the same is finally set to come out at the end of this month. Luke Cage follows the story of former convict turned superhero, the appropriately named Luke Cage. Using his super strength and nearly unbreakable skin, Luke Cage fights for the heart of Harlem as he battles organized crime in the inner-city. You don’t want to miss this one.
Now that we know which shows to look out for, here’s a more complete look at the Fall TV premieres for the remainder of September:
