We’ve got an exciting set of spring sports for you this week, where we discuss how to watch your favorite sports without a cable bill.
The Golden State Warriors look to continue their domination in the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the international soccer tournament Copa America Centenario is gaining momentum, and there’s a bunch of free MLB games to check out. Lots to cover – so let’s get started!
**All times in Eastern Time Zone**
This week’s set of MLB games will air on 3 different services. The first service on our list is Yahoo. This season, Yahoo will stream 180 MLB games, one every day, for FREE. No subscription, no contract.
For the games on FOX, the only thing you’ll need is an over-the-air antenna (ideally with an OTA DVR). As you will notice, all of our FOX games this week take place at the same time, and that’s because all of the games will air in different markets. The final service on the list is ESPN. As always, in order to catch games on ESPN, you’ll need a subscription to Sling TV. A month’s subscription only costs $20 a month and you get streaming access to over 20 live television channels; ESPN included.
Since the NBA Finals air exclusively on ABC, the only thing you’ll need to watch the Finals is an OTA antenna. No muss, no fuss.
Alternatively, if you’re short on time, you can buy the Sports add-on for $5 from Sling TV and get streaming access to ABC. Getting an antenna is a lot cheaper in the long run, but it’ll work in a pinch.
The entire Stanley Cup series will air on NBC, so the only thing you need to watch (again) is an OTA antenna. No fancy tricks, no cable required.
Watching Copa America Centenario this year has never been easier. As you will soon notice, all of the soccer matches this week will air on networks owned by FOX. To catch the games on the FOX broadcast network, an OTA antenna will do the trick.
For the games on the Fox Sports (FS1) channel, you’ll need a subscription to Playstation Vue or Sling TV’s multi-view package. Playstation Vue carries both Fox Sports (FS1 and FS2) channels, which is absolutely essential to catching all of the match-ups. Although prices for the different plans vary, the lowest subscription will run you $30 a month; where as with Sling you are only looking at a $20 a month price tag.
Here’s the upcoming schedule.
